CISL Windows Printing

LOCATING PRINTERS:

1) Printer location and model information can be found for installed printers by right-clicking on the printer and selecting "Printer Properties".

2) You can also view all printers and their locations here:

ADDING AND INSTALLING PRINTERS:

Domain Users:
Windows users with computes on the domain have printers deployed automatically by policy based on the user location.

To install additional printers:
1) Send a work request to cislhelp (AT) ucar.edu requesting to be added to additional policies for the printer you need installed.

2) Install by yourself by doing the following:

  • From Start - Select "Devices and Printers"
  • Select "Add Printer"
  • Select "Add a network printer"
  • Select "The printer that I want isn't listed"
  • By defaul "Select a shared printer by name" will be selected. Type two backslahses, the name of the server (bolivia) follwoed by another backslash. Example: \\bolivia\
    This will initiate a dropdown of all CISL printers available. Select the printer you wish to install.
  • Select "Next"
  • Decide whether to leave "Set as the default printer" selected
  • Select "Finish"

 

Guests:
Users on the guest network have access to two printers located at Mesa Lab:

  • The first is eads.ml-guest.ucar.edu (128.117.45.198) located at tower B third floor rooom 394.
  • The second is blackhawk.ml-guest.ucar.edu (128.117.45.15) located in the library carrels (LC4).

To Install a guest printer:

  • From Start - Select "Devices and Printers"
  • Select "Add a printer"
  • Select "Add a local printer"
  • Select "Create a new port"
  • Select "Standard TCP/IP Port"
  • Select "Next"
  • For "Hostname or IP address" use the IP address listed above
  • For "Port name" use the printer name from above
  • Select "Next"
  • Decide whether to leave "Set as the default printer" selected
  • Select "Finish"
