VPN access

Some individuals who work closely with NCAR may need to use our virtual private network (VPN) to connect with internal resources. If you need VPN access, see your lab's system administrator about downloading the necessary client software.

When you have the client software and the required authentication token or app, you can connect to the VPN as described here.

Connecting to the virtual private network

Start the VPN connection by clicking the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client icon on your desktop or taskbar.

Click Connect when the following box appears:

Connect VPN

Enter your username on the next screen, then follow the procedures for using your authentication token or app to continue. 

Password VPN

Click Accept in the next box that appears and you will be connected to the VPN. 

Accept VPN

A box like the one below will remain on your screen while you are connected to the VPN.

Disconnect VPN

Click Disconnect when you're finished.
