The CISL Outreach, Diversity, and Education (CODE) team is dedicated to building and improving the high-performance computing community’s culture and workforce development through educational programs for people of all ages, student work experiences, recruitment and exposure to HPC.


AJ Lauer, EdD

AJ Lauer

AJ joined NCAR in 2015 with more than 10 years of experience working with college students at various types of universities including Hispanic Serving Institutions, a Big 10 university, and a STEM school. She manages CISL’s education and outreach programs and staff, contributes to NCAR and UCAR's diversity efforts, and works to recruit and retain CISL’s workforce. Her research focuses on diversity and inclusion in the field of high-performance computing.

AJ hails from Wisconsin and loves cheese and frozen custard as much as you probably think she would.

Virginia Do

Outreach Manager & SIParCS Director

Virginia comes from Huntington Beach, CA, and her career background is in student affairs and higher education with experience in community engagement, academic advising, and diversity work. Virginia transitions her skills to work in CISL Outreach, Diversity, and Education (CODE) to support outreach and education efforts. Additionally, she directs all aspects of the SIParCS internship program, including recruitment, selection, and professional development.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and toddler, sampling new foods, rock climbing, and walking their cat, Mango.

Agbeli "Ag" Ameko

Educational Designer

Ag Ameko photo

Ag has 20 years of experience in commercial weather forecasting, international business development, renewable energy, sensors, and data science. Ag is working on CISL's user-friendly 3D Printed Weather Station platform with Raspberry Pi embedded weather forecasting for use in education, outreach, and field programs.

He enjoys training for and participating in ultramarathons, ski mountaineering, and ocean races in fun places around the world.
