With construction complete, the NWSC is now solidly transitioning to operations, and seeing its first distinguished visitors.

On Thursday, March 8, approximately 25 members of the Wyoming State Legislature toured the facility. Earlier in the day, UCAR President Tom Bogdan held a Town Hall meeting with NWSC staff and had the opportunity to meet with Wyoming Governor Matt Mead.

During the tour, which was attended by legislators, UCAR and NCAR staff, and some members of the press, Gary New and Aaron Andersen showcased the facility's design and energy efficiency features.

The NWSC team is completing preparations for delivery of the facility's first supercomputer, named Yellowstone, slated to arrive this Spring. An opening ceremony is being planned for October 2012.
