Application Process

Twenty five graduate students in environmental, ecological, climatic, and statistical science fields will be selected to participate in this year's week-long workshop.

There is no registration fee.  Lodging will be at CU-Boulder, Bear Creek Apartments and daily transportation to NCAR Mesa Lab and NEON is covered by the sponsors (NSF, NCAR, IMAGe, and SAMSI).  Participants will only be responsible for travel to Boulder and meals.

Application materials are due March 31 and notification will occur around April 4. Application packets will be reviewed by the tutorial instructors. Please submit the following:

  1. Brief cover letter stating your interest in the workshop and how you anticipate participation will advance your research.

  2. Letter of support from your graduate advisor.
  3. Overview of your proposed or on-going research.  This should include research questions, description of your data, and any modeling of computing challenges/barriers (1 page).
  4. NSF style biographical sketch (2 pages).
